Plant Design

Foundation:
Know how to log on to the system and know the differences between the PDMS modules. Understand how the graphical user interface (GUI) works. Know how to navigate in the design explorer. Display elements in the 3D view and how to use the Model Editor to modify the 3D model. Create and modify equipment elements and equipment primitives, and how to position them.
Prerequisite: Familiarization with Microsoft Windows, standard keyboard skills and knowledge of plant design.

Pipework Design
Know the structure of how a pipe is defined in PDMS. Create and modify a pipe and its components. Know how do a consistency check and how to create a piping isometric.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations training course, or having similar PDMS knowledge and knowledge of piping design.

Structural Design
Know the structure of how structural elements are defined in PDMS. Create and modify sections, panels, section and panel fittings, bracings, negative extrusions and end preparations.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations training course, or having similar PDMS knowledge and knowledge of structural design.

Drawing Production
Know the structure on how the drawing elements are defined in PDMS. Create and modify a drawing, how to add dimensioning, labeling and other annotation. Know how to export to other formats and how to print/plot.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations training course, or having similar PDMS knowledge.

Drawing Production Administration:
Know how to create and modify libraries for symbols, intelligent labels, tagging rules, backing sheets. Set up and administer automatic drawing production.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations & Drawing Production training courses, or having similar PDMS knowledge.

Basic System Administration:
Know how to create a PDMS project with teams, users, databases and mdbs. Know how to administer and maintain a PDMS project.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations training course, or having similar PDMS knowledge.

Advanced System Admin and Global
Know how to create and use extract databases, to create and maintain Data Access Control. Set up a Global PDMS project for HUB and Satellite. Administration of Global projects.
Prerequisite: Completed Basic System Administration training course, or having similar PDMS knowledge.

Piping Catalogues and Specifications: Know how to create piping parameterized catalogue components including geometries, connection information, descriptions, properties, bolting and insulation. How to set up wall thickness, branch, reducer and bore tables, connection compatibilities, surface treatment, gparts and part families.Create and maintain piping, nozzle, bolting and insulation specifications.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations & Pipework Design training courses, or having similar PDMS knowledge.

Structural Catalogues and Specifications:Know how to create structural parameterized catalogue components for structural profiles, section and panel fittings, joints, and fittings for hole management. Materials and weights/densities. Create and maintain specifications for sections, fittings, joints and panels.
Prerequisite: Completed Foundations & Structural Design training courses, or having similar PDMS knowledge.
